Rewilding Central Victoria Webinar (Part 2)

In our second webinar about ‘rewilding’, as part of our 2024 Monthly Webinar Series, hear from Derek Sandow who is the Marna Banggara Project Manager at the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.

Derek provides insights into one of Australia’s most ambitious rewilding projects, Marna Banggara. In Central Victoria, there is much to learn from this landmark project - the first of its kind in Australia, it's applying rewilding principles in a landscape where conservation, agriculture and the community exist side-by-side.

Note: this webinar was recorded Wednesday 21 August, 2024.

Why watch this webinar?

'Rewilding' is a topic that sparks the imagination of many, with a range of views about what it actually means. With a 70,000 year history of active management, Australia’s ecosystems that we know and love require people. Rewilding across Central Victoria must also incorporate the modern landscape that people have impacted and created - one dominated by agriculture.

Off the back of our highly popular Rewilding Central Victoria Expert Panel Event in 2023, we hosted a premiere event - Rewilding Central Victoria Symposium in 2024. This event deep dived into all aspects of 'rewilding' and what it means for our region through the lens of a range of expert presenters.

Derek Sandow was a Keynote Speaker at our 2024 Rewilding Central Victoria Symposium.
