Meet the team
Grab an ice cold drink and spend a moment with our Senior Communications Manager, Georgia Gross.
1. What inspires you to work with Biolinks Alliance?
I really can’t imagine a team more committed or authentic about changing the future for the better. Each of my colleagues is so dedicated, optimistic and clever (yet humble!). I’m continually learning from them as their depth of knowledge and practical experience in ecological repair is incredible! They are all great fun too and we have plenty of laughs along the way.
2. What does your job entail?
My job is to help increase Biolinks Alliance’s profile and engagement with our key stakeholders, and bring to life our projects and other work to restore ecological function. At the end of the day, it's about creating awareness with and getting more and more people involved in helping to build climate resilience across our lands. From our digital communications to our events, I try to make sure we have intriguing content that educates and inspires, and shares our compelling stories.
3. Is there an outcome for our environment you feel most proud of in your time with Biolinks Alliance?
Our 2024 Rewilding Central Victoria Symposium attracted a huge number of people from across different sectors. It was uplifting to be in a room with hopeful and such motivated individuals, all there to learn and help contribute to restoring our environment. As a mum of two kids, it’s encouraging to know there are so many of us who are fighting for a better future.
5. If you were an animal, insect, or plant – what would you be and why?
Galah - I love gathering with friends to share good food, conversation and giggles (which can often end in screeching laughter!).
6. On your days off - what do you like to do?
I live in the Macedon Ranges with its abundant opportunity to get amongst some pretty amazing nature. I love making the most of this when I can! Gardening, exercising in the sunshine (or sheltered from the rain in my shed) or going for creekside walks or a hike with a friend are all favourite things to do. I have a special place in my house that catches the afternoon sun so that's also (when I get a chance!) a great place to curl up with a book. My family and friends are definitely the centerpiece of my life so sharing good food, conversation and plenty of laughs is one of my simple life pleasures! I also spend much of my time catapulting from one kid's sporting activity to the next which means I've often courtside coffee in hand.
