Field Day: Bird ecology with Gary Cheers

Location: Spring Plains Nature Conservation Reserve, Heathcote. Meet at the corner of Spring Plain track and Chisholm track. See map below.
Equipment: Close toed shoes, long sleeves, hat/sun protection, gaiters

Gary Cheers is an expert at monitoring bird life and has gathered data for both of the sites at spring plains. This event is a great opportunity to expand your understanding of bird ecology, what bird diversity and abundance can tell us about the health of the ecosystem and also what the best way is to collect this information.

This day is suitable for anyone who has an interest in Birds or forest ecology and wants to learn more. We are limiting this even to 20 participants.

Please remember to bring binoculars or a telephoto lens if you have one

There are also several Swift Parrot survey points in the area run by Bird Life Australia.
