Biolinks Alliance is working with Great Eastern Ranges partnerships to deliver Glideways in the Melbourne Ark (GitMA) throughout central Victoria. Partnering with GER through NSW, Biolinks Alliance is sharing experiences and coordinating action for the protection of Glider species across the landscape.

In 2020 and 2016, Biolinks Alliance partnered with Great Eastern Ranges to deliver our annual symposia:

  • Gliding Possums (2016)

  • Greater and Squirrel Glider symposium (2020)

There are two active projects, and one prospective project underway by Biolinks Alliance:

  • Strathbogie Ranges Glideways - a community-driven Glider species survey project in the Strathbogie Ranges, delivered with the Strathbogie Ranges Conservation Management Network to develop broadly-owned conservation and connectivity action plains for glider recovery

  • Broadford to Glenoura Glideways - an expansion on existing Phascogale conservation program with surveying, habitat protection and connection, delivered with the Southwest Goulburn Landcare Network

  • Kangaroo Creek - Addressing the pressing need to protect and enhance habitat to secure Greater Glider populations occurring on climate refuges on private land

  • PROSPECTIVE: Nullavale to Pyalong Glideways - a citizen science mapping program for Brush-tailed Phascogales, delivered with the Southwest Goulburn Landcare Network

More information about Glideways in the Melbourne Ark, as well as the broader Glideways program can be found online. Glideways is a project of the Great Eastern Ranges.
