Biolinks Alliance has had a long standing relationship with Macedon Ranges Shire Council spanning several years and multiple funding agreements.

Currently, Biolinks Alliance has received a 2022 Landcare grant within the Greenhill to Blackhill biolink that addresses Springs and Soaks - the priority conservation value identified by the local community.

The grant has enabled us to:

  • Hold 3 site assessments on properties with the biolink to determine the current remnant springs and soaks health and to identify the next steps to protect and enhance them.

  • Additionally, Biolinks Alliance and Macedon Ranges Shire Council will be hosting a virtual information session with the Wetland and Riparian Specialist Ecologist who performed the site assessments in order to educate landholders on restoring and enhancing springs and soaks on their property. More information about this event will be available soon.

In previous years, Macedon Ranges Shire Council has awarded Biolinks Alliance funding for:

  • 2021 Landcare grant for the Greenhill to Blackhill project prospectus

  • 2021 Community grant for the Greenhill to Blackhill community workshop
